Forest School
At Whitewater we believe that Forest School is a wonderful opportunity and experience for the children to have hands on learning within a woodland environment.
Originating from Scandanavia, Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. The children will have the opportunity to take part in activities focussed around nature connection during their 1.5 hour session including use of tools, craft activities, natural play, den building and more.
Our Forest School is based in the Woodland Walk and Orchard area in the school grounds with the opportunity to visit local woodlands. Run by a Forest School Leader and supported by parent volunteers, these sessions currently run once a week for a group up to 15 children for a period of six weeks each.
The Parent Presentation and Handbook provide more information on what Forest School is and how it will operate at Whitewater.
