PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
We are very fortunate at our school to have a such a dedicated team of parents and teachers who have proved to be such an integral part of the school community over the years. Over the course of time, we have raised thousands of pounds, which has been gifted to the school for items on their annual wish list.
The PTA is about much more than just fundraising. It exists to provide closer links between home and school and is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It is also great fun too.
In order for us to continue succeeding, we are always looking for the support of new and existing parents and staff.
All parents and members of the school community can get involved if they wish to, even if they only have a small amount of time available.
The PTA is extremely conscious of the ethos and morals of our school, and we try very hard when organising and planning events to respect this.
Please feel free to contact one of us to have an informal chat if you would like to know anything more about our wonderful Parent Teacher Association.
About Us
Whitewater School Parent Teachers Association – Aims & Objectives
WSPTA is a registered charity (no: 1026879), which exists to raise funds for the Primary School as a whole in order to enhance the children's environment and learning.
We also try to foster social contact between parents and Rotherwick residents and reinforce the key role of the school within the village. Some of our events are open to all the public who come from the surrounding villages.
As a parent, guardian or teacher of a child or children at the school you are automatically a member of the WSPTA.
The Work of the WSPTA
You are represented by a committee of parents who are elected at the Annual General Meeting (usually held at the end of September), and the Head of School.
We run a variety of fundraising events throughout the year and the money raised is provided to the school. In recent years this has provided books for the library, WIFI, art supplies, digital cameras, play equipment, drama staging in the hall, playground markings, woodland walk, enhancements for the curriculum and many other enhancements that contribute to the children's general well-being and learning environment.
Join the committee and have your vote count for where the funds are allocated to.
Come and join in the fun!
We regularly organise social events throughout the year aimed at helping parents to get out of the house and socialise with each other away from the children.
If you are new to the area or your children have just joined the school, coming along to one of our events is a great way to make friends and increase your social circle.
