Frost, Fire, Fun at our Final Session
Our Forest School Warriors had their last session today and we made it a festive themed affair. There were opportunities to do some Christmas crafts as well as continued use of tools. Two of the boys sawed their own sticks from a coppiced piece of hazel and then used their knife skills to shape them as they wished.
There was a lot of laughter and running around – especially needed to keep warm on this beautiful frosty winter day!- and Hanna lit her first fire with a big smile on her face when she did.
We had hot chocolate with squirty cream and yummy smores and at the end of the session the children were all given their Forest School Award certificate and got to take their name wood cookies home. They have achieved so much these past six weeks, and we have seen them develop their confidence, practical skills and their love of the outdoors.
Well done to all of them.
Next term we will welcome a new group of children – we can’t wait for the fun to begin again!
