What is Peace?
Dear Otters,
We celebrate VE Day not just because it was the END of WW2 in Europe, but because it was the BEGINNING of PEACE. So in our blog today I'd like us to think about peace. With a grown-up, read this poem about peace:
What is Peace?
Peace feels like a leaf falling on me.
Peace makes me feel at home.
Peace is my friend when I am lonely.
Peace is a tree being saved from a chainsaw.
Peace is not having violence in the world.
Alex Nauman, Grade 4
I think this is a beautiful and thoughtful poem by someone who is very young - only 9 or 10 years old! Alex has thought really carefully about the title of this poem and answered the title question in each line. I thought today we could write our own poem, which I will post on our class page on VE Day, 8th May. We need as many people as possible to get involved so let your Otter friends know what we are doing.
In the comments below, write one line, beginning with 'Peace...', answering the question: What is Peace? I'll get us started. I will try to upload each comment as it comes in so you can see what your friends are writing.
I'm so excited to write a poem with you today!
Love from,
Ms Lamble
