The Music curriculum will actively support the growth of the Whitewater Learner ensuring children gain a developing appreciation of music from a variety of styles, communities and cultures from the past and the present. They will gain a deeper understanding of the world and the people in it through their experience of music and musicians. They will gain cooperation and confidence in themselves as musicians as they practise and perform.

The Whitewater Musician will endeavour to find out how music is created and explore their own creativity in response to hearing music. They will develop a comprehensive understanding of the musical elements such as tempo and pitch. They will engage with music discovering and developing their own interest which may lead to learning how to play a tuned instrument for their own pleasure.

At Whitewater, we have designed our Music curriculum on a two-year cycle. The Roadmap shows the journey that our children take as they progress through school. Our <Music curriculum is progressive, broad and engaging.
